Double Image #1-5 + Double Take 6-8
Double Image is a comic book series published by Image in 2001.
The first issue is in flip-book format and the rest are two stories per issue.
The creative team of the first serialized feature, "Codeflesh", is Joe Casey (writer), Charlie Adlard (illustrator) and Comicraft (design & lettering)
For the second serialized story, the four-issue "The Bod", the writer is Larry Young and the artist is John Heebink. Issue 5, in which the artist was Aman Chaudary, featured a stand-alone short story)
This series was cancelled by Image after issue 5, but it continued for 3 more issues published by Robert Kirkman's imprint Funk-o-Tron.
Under Funk-o-Tron, "Codeflesh" continued by the same creative team, plus Ben Templesmith, who contributed with tones.
The second feature was "Rex Mantooth, Kung-Fu Gorilla" written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Andy Kuhn.
CODEFLESH
Cameron Daltrey is an L.A. bail bondsman. his specialty is criminals of the superhuman persuasion. They are the type that rarely make their court dates. And so Cameron leads an interesting double life: bail bondsman by day, masked bounty hunter by night. It's not the most convenient lifestyle.
THE BOD
It's about a young actress, Kelly Gordon, who goes to Hollywood seeking fame. She has a chemical accident that renders her invisible. The story concerns how her invisibility affects her dream of fame.
REX MANTOOTH
Rex Mantooth is of course a bizarre concept, combining all sorts of comic-book and cheesy pop cliches into one hilarious action comic. Not satisfied with simply over-the-top, Fraction, Kuhn and Fisher take Rex Mantooth one step beyond, throwing in a lesbian army and then sending in their less-than-covert gorilla protagonist to infiltrate.
