Softimage got bought by Autodesk. 7.5 is the first release after this. The major change is the move from the Softimage License Manager to the Autodesk License Manager. Which is not going well. People with legit licenses are having problems, so the crack is still far off. And yes, the problem is with the integrated Mental Ray, not XSI per se.
