This cumulative patch contains all files necessary to update Left 4 Dead to the new version:

It includes:
- All binaries, maps, textures etc. that has been changed by Valve
- The REVOLUTiON Emulator v9.78 RC2 - All credits go to the REVOLUTiON Crew (www.rev-crew.info)
- Original Steam server browser module (steamclient.dll.old)
- Modified left4dead.exe by shmelle to accept and load the emulator
- No installer
- Updated Setti master server file

What works:
- Single player mode
- LAN mode
- Online mode on no-steam servers
- Server browser (except for favorites/history - these are saved but not loaded currently)
- Achievements (no notifications though)

What does not work:
- Avatars (or if you want to use a totally white avatar, then it's working for you... Smile)
- Lobby matchmaking system (it really does work but the Steam server will kick you out immediately)
- Playing on Steam servers (it never will)

Notes:
Check for emulator updates at www.rev-cew.info and cs.rin.ru

Testing:
Skullptura tested -> working
Steam rip tested -> working
Other clients -> untested but should work (feel free to try)

Compatibility:
This client can connect to v1.0.1.4 servers only.

Installation instructions:
- Create a backup of your whole game! (To connect to old servers and in case something goes wrong)
- Extract the archive to your game directory overwriting everything
- Open rev.ini in Notepad and edit your player name (!DefaultPlayerName!), leave everything else
- Rebuild sound cache if needed
- Play

Uninstallation instructions:
- Delete your game folder
- Restore your backup Smile

About rebuilding the sound cache:

Some versions of the L4D client (e.g. Skullptura) come with re-encoded sound files. This may conflict with the default sound cache of the game and causes poor audio quality and static noise. If you experience this then do the following:

Execute (read: double-click) the "fixaudio.cmd" file in your installation directory
The game will start and rebuild the necessary file then it will exit.

About the server browser:

- You can open it by typing "openserverbrowser" into the game console or you can bind a key for this command in config.cfg or autoexec.cfg
- The Setti servers appear on the Custom tab. If you know any L4D servers that do not appear on the list please submit them @ css.setti.info.
