BACKGROUND
Between 1945 and the present day, the Rev. W Awdry - and later his son Christopher Awdry - authored over 40 books about the engines on the fictitious Island of Sodor. The books are collectively known as "The Railway Series", and formed the basis of the Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends television series (later changed to Thomas and Friends ).
The Railway Stories are adaptations of the original books, abridged to be suitable for audio recording. The first widely-available recordings - read by television presenter Johnny Morris - were released on vinyl LP several times in the 1960s and 1970s. Other recordings of the same stories read by comedians Ted Robbins and the late Willie Rushton were also released on cassette.
In 2006 BBC Audio produced a new recording of The Railway Stories commencing once again from the first book in the series. The reader for this release was actor Michael Angelis - the narrator of the UK version of the television series since 1991.
BBC Audio have subsequently released a new CD each year containing readings of the stories from the next three books in the series, and sometimes also music or songs from the television series.
RELEASE DETAILS
This second CD of The Railway Stories contains the following thirteen stories read by Michael Angelis:

As with the original CD, each story is presented as a separate track for ease of listening. Tracks vary in length according to the story. The total running time for the thirteen stories is around 73 minutes.
Tracks were extracted using Exact Audio Copy v0.99 and encoded using FLAC v1.2.1. Play the files with a FLAC-compatible media player, or download the FLAC software for your operating system (from [url]http://flac.sourceforge.net[/url]) and decode the files back into their original wave format.
