One of the Boys is the second album from Capitol Music Group recording artist, Katy Perry. The album is Perry's first album since her Red Hill Records Christian rock debut, entitled Katy Hudson, which was recorded in 2001. The album was released in United States and Canada on June 17, 2008. The album features the hit song "Ur So Gay" and the hit singles "Hot N Cold" and "I Kissed a Girl", the latter of which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in more than 20 countries.
The album was certified Gold in the U.S on September 22, 2008.[2] and has sold 749,000+ copies worldwide.

Perry collaborated with notable producers Greg Wells, Dr. Luke, Dave Stewart, Max Martin among others on the album.[3] Perry co-wrote every song on the album as well as wrote 3 of the songs on her own.
Critical reception
Reaction by critics has been mixed to negative. While Kerri Mason of Billboard Magazine gave the album a positive review, stating "a debut album [has never] been so packed with potential hits", other sources such as Allmusic and Rolling Stone each gave it 2 out of 5 stars. According to review-aggregating website Metacritic, the album's average rating among critics is 45 out of 100, a score that has earned it the distinction of the second worst-reviewed album of 2008 to date as well as a space on the site's "Bottom 100" Albums.
