Girls Aloud are a British girl group created by TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The group, consisting of Cheryl Cole [nee Tweedy], Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, has become one of the most successful British pop groups of the decade, with a record-breaking sixteen consecutive Top 10 singles [including three number ones], four platinum albums [including a number one] and record sales in excess of 4.2 million in the UK. They are Smash Hits Poll Winners, have won a TMF Award and have been nominated for a BRIT Award. Girls Aloud hold the record for the shortest time between formation and reaching number one in the UK Charts [with their platinum-selling debut single 'Sound of the Underground'], and have since become one of the few reality television groups to have had continued success. Guinness World Records list them as the Most Successful Reality TV Group in the 2007 edition, and also the Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries in the UK by a Female Group in the 2008 edition. For a contemporary pop group manufactured on reality television they have received unprecedented praise from broadsheet newspapers and the rock music press.
'Tangled Up' is the fourth studio album [fifth overall] by British all-female pop group Girls Aloud. It will be released by Fascination Records on November 19th 2007 in the United Kingdom. Like their previous efforts, 'Tangled Up' is produced by the production team of Brian Higgins and Xenomania. In an interview for the Fascination Records website, Cole said the album was "heading in a more mature direction" and that there is only one ballad, mid-tempo songs, typical Girls Aloud bangers and even a garage sounding track. Pumped full of fun, cheeky songs that will appeal to everybody's inner teenager, this album marks them out as rightful heirs to the girl-group throne. Includes the singles 'Sexy! No No No' and 'Call The Shots'.
