Photographer Interviews - Charlie Rose (oct93 to mar07)
This torrent release has been made available as an historic archive. As soon as the release has been seeded I will no longer support this 4GB torrent release. Therefore, the survival of this release is reliant on early leechers staying on as seeders once they’ve reached 100%. Torrents over 1GB are always harder to keep afloat, IF YOU LIKE THE CONTENTS OF THIS TORRENT - HELP SEED IT.
These low resolution (mostly 320 x 240px) XviD AVIs can all be found on Google video. They’ve simply been collected together for convenience. Highly compressed video files don’t show flat areas of tone and color seamlessly, because compression algorithms create noticeable artefacts in areas of little to no detail. Since the Charlie Rose show is set against a flat black studio backdrop, the original Google sourced flash videos suffer visibly as a result of video compression.
This torrent collection comprises 47 TV interviews that screened from October 1993 to March 2007. The highlight of this collection is the most recent interview in the collection: Taryn SIMON. Simon’s cognitive and succinct descriptions regarding the motives which inform her use of the medium are refreshing in the context of an art world that is riddled with speculative explanations. Other interview highlights include: William KLEIN, Sally MANN, Michael STIPE, John SZARKOWSKI & Oliviero TOSCANI.
Charlie Rose seems to have a very unprepared/improvised approach to interviews that can become very annoying, very quickly. However, the fact that he’s championed photography and interviewed many of the medium’s greats during his journalistic career is worthy of praise.
