'Hush Hush' is a song by the Pussycat Dolls, included on the first edition of their second studio album 'Doll Domination' [2008]. Originally a slow ballad, the song was remade into an uptempo, disco-inspired dance song sampling parts of Gloria Gaynor's 1978 hit 'I Will Survive', and retitled 'Hush Hush; Hush Hush'. The dance version was later released as a single from a reworked version of the Doll's second album, Doll Domination 2.0. Despite the original version never officially being released, the song would go on enter the Russian Airplay Chart, debuting at thirty-eight, and eventually reaching No.1. It outperformed the majority of the official singles released in Russia helping the album to reach Gold status. 'Hush Hush' became the fourth song by an American artist to reach No.1 [the previous being Katy Perry with 'Hot N Cold'] in Russia. Lead and background vocals for both versions of the song are performed solely by lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.
The music video for the up-tempo version was filmed over two days on May 5th and 6th 2009 with director Rich Lee. It features cameo appearances by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and former VIP Pussycat Doll Carmen Electra, who used to sing lead vocals with the Dolls during their burlesque performances. The video starts with Nicole Scherzinger in a bathtub singing the first verse. As the song progresses, she gets up and leaves the bath room unclothed. As she goes through a door she is suddenly seen in with her clothes on. When the chorus starts, she and the other Pussycat Dolls sing in a hallway with regular, sideways, and upside down stairways. etc., etc.
