DC Comics Chronology - Post-Zero Hour Pack 41
featuring DC titles published between October 1998 and November 1998
Someone let Grant Morrison off his leash again, resulting in the four-part weekly DC One Million. As with Zero Hour, all the ongoing DC Universe titles (except LotDK and Legends of the DCU) got replaced, this time by jumping forward to the 853rd century for issue #1000000 of everything. One new ongoing series begins as a near-direct result, with Martian Manhunter #0, Annual #1, and #1,000,000 all preceding the actual "first" issue in December; the series would run 36 issues.
Five mini-series begin, with four issues each of Arsenal and Tim Truman's Guns of the Dragon. Peter Milligan's eight-part The Minx debuted from Vertigo, while the very last Helix release ever, the five-issue Sheva's War, began. The three-part Elseworlds story Superman: The Dark Side also hit stores, but hasn't been individually scanned. Trade paperback will be in Pack 49. (The Guns of the Dragon and Sheva's War scans come directly from me; please be gentle.)
Man, oh man. NINE series officially end this pack. The reprint title Essential Vertigo: Swamp Thing ends with #24; Adventures in the DC Universe with #19; Jack Kirby's Fourth World with #20; Major Bummer with #15; and Pinky and the Brain with #27. Green Arrow exits with issue #137, while Young Heroes in Love stop feeling the love with #17. Creeper ends with #11, and much to my dismay Chase bowed out with #9. Each of these four titles would technically last one more issue (#1,000,000 of each), but these are the final regular issues.
As always, deepest thanks to the original scanners and uploaders, without whom I'd not have been able to compile the material.
