Afghanistan 1981, in een woestijn waar een afgelegen stadje verwoest wordt door een meedogeloze commandant en zijn peloton in hun schijnbaar onzichtbare tank. De tankbestuurder komt in opstand tegen het zinloze geweld en wordt achtergelaten in de woestijn. Ironisch genoeg wordt de bestuurder gered door een vijandelijke Mujahedeen-leider en samen trekken ze er op uit om de tank die ze ' The Beast' noemen te vernietigen.
