ello friends. I am the guy formerly known as Goebbels! My Goebbels account went to hell. First, the ratio reset to 0, then I could no longer comment on torrents! My ability to send PM\'s somehow died, and now my ability to upload torrents is gone too. I\'ve contacted the Demonoid staff and they\'re working on it, but from now on I\'m under this name, Ehsan Vessal, which is my real name!
Well after noticing the amount of Mstislav Rostropovich torrents on Demonoid after news of his death, I decided to put the Raucheisen Man at Piano series on hold ot upload this little tribute to the Maestro.
This is the Serge Prokofiev 50th Anniversary Edition, originally released 50 years after the death of the composer. Rostropovich was one of his students, and who better to conduct his symphonies and his large opera War and Peace (with wfe Galina Vichnievska?a)? Rostropovich also makes an appearance during the concertos, busting out his 1711 Duport Stradivarius Cello for the Cello Concerto (under Seiji Ozawa and the LSO) and conducting the young Maxim Vengerov on the Violin Concerto No.1 Op.19. Vengerov also provides his own Strad, the wonderful 1727 Kreutzer Stradivarius.
Also, Vadim Repin busts out his 1708 Ruby Stradivarius for the Violin Concerto No.2 Op.63 under the direction of Kent Nagano and the Hall? Orchestra. Repin will also play on the sonatas for violin and piano. Vladimir Kraniev plays the 5 piano concertos. Also, you get a dose of Prokofiev\'s chamber music and his stage works and film scores (including Peter and the Wolf in 4 different languages!). A CD of archive recordings, including a segment of an interview with Prokofiev and the composer himself singing some of his own compositions round the set.
Booklets have been provided as well. The War and Peace booklet was 235 pages or so by itself! (They did provide full libretto in 3 languages).
You would think that a major label like Warner Classics at the very least would provide a booklet with no grammatical errors. But read some of the pages (English ones at least) and you\'ll notice grammatical error upon grammatical error. Quite ironic I say! The composers son Sviastoslav makes some comments about his father\'s music in the booklets.
Also, I must comment that writing French on a computer is no easy task... just look at the War and Peace cue sheet and see for yourself! Ban the Acutes, the Graves, the Cedilles, the Circumflexes! My hands are broken!!!
Enjoy, and as usual please seed.
RIP Mstislav Rostropovich.
EDIT: I will be limiting my upload speeds! (At least until tomorrow morning, then I\'ll let it hit full blast)
