Honey West notes
Here are four episodes of the Honey West television program circa 1966.
There are several sources for the significance of this series featuring the
first detective/adventure program with a female lead.
Ann Francis is best known for her role in the science fiction classic
Forbidden Planet. She was widely seen in television roles including
the Twilight Zone.
The link below gives a great description of this series and Ann Francis as a character actor in it.
This is antique television at its best. The term antique televsion and references to Honey West appears in the work of the science fiction author John Varley in the mid 70\'s in a novel called The Barbie Murders.
Honey West as a character in detective fiction predates the television show.
With the numerous transfers to dvd of older tv programs, I hope that someday
Honey West will have a properly issued dvd series with all the trimmings.
Ann Francis deserves it.

Just as I was making this torrent I learned the following:
VCI Entertainment will release all 30 episodes on a 4 disc set on Sept. 2, 2008. No price given at this time.(From IMDb discussion on the series.)

I'm glad the show is finally being released in a boxed set.
I have already requested my library buy it. They have been getting some old tv shows that are not anywhere near the significance of Honey West.
Here's the wiki:

Or is it just me having nostalgia? I don\'t think so. John Varley references
Honey West, the spin off of Burke\'s Law, in one of his science fiction novels called The Barbie Murders. From the perspective of the 70\'s when Varley was writing, HW was projected to be fascinating \'antique television\' in a Varley-imagined future.
I am glad I've seen that future arrive.
