A couple of years ago I asked by e-mail Mr. Diament which of the early Led Zeppelin CDs are mastered by him and which are not. His PR answered me that all discs are mastered by Barry Diament when he was at Atlantic Studios in New York (except the fourth album which is the first CD mastering and it's done by Joe Sidore at Warner Brothers Studio in Los Angeles, CA) though his name is not always credited on the booklet of the CD. Actually Led Zeppelin's sleeves are as a rule very poor of text info though the group used to pay too much attention to the album covers.
This torrent contains all the original albums by the group (as far as I know they did not issue any song on a single that was not later included in a LP) so this is their full official discography in its early mastering by Barry Diament (the fourh album is included for completeness). Some consider these CDs more authentic and closer to the original LPs with their noise, hiss and genuine “roughness”. Now they are out of print and can be bought only on second hand sales. Jimmy Page and George Marino issued new remasters of all albums in 1993 (I think) which are since then the official LZ releases. But which edition sounds better this I will leave to the judgement of the audience.
Most of these early pressings were already uploaded on the tracker of Demonoid by other mates and some by me in the last year. Here I gathered together the whole corpus of Mr. Diament's masterings for convenience of the downloaders. All the discs come from my personal collection. This time I re-ripped them using the latest version of EAC and the correct configuration and setting-up. The artwork is also re-scanned in 300 dpi and improved as compared to my previous torrents of LZ's early pressings. Any remarks and suggestions are always welcome.
