Alesha Dixon [born Alesha Anjanette Dixon, October 7th 1978 in Welwyn Garden City, England] is an English singer, MC, songwriter, model and television personality. After finding fame in the all-girl trio Mis-Teeq, she is scheduled to release her debut solo album in 2008 after the initial UK release of the album 'Fired Up' was cancelled. 'Fired Up' was released in Japan in February 2008 under Victor Records. Dixon was crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion in December 2007, beating actor Matt Di Angelo in the final.
'The Boy Does Nothing' is the lead single from Alesha Dixon's second album, 'The Alesha Show' scheduled for release on November 24th 2008. The single was physically released on November 10th 2008 and November 7th 2008 in Ireland. The single became her first solo UK Top 10, following a 76 spot jump from No.84 to No.8 on the UK Singles Chart chart on downloads alone, selling 27,683. The following week Alesha charted at No.5 with the physical release of 'The Boy Does Nothing'. The video for 'The Boy Does Nothing' is directed by the art director from the film Moulin Rouge, Michael Gracey. It takes place in a theatre style room, where two children are spying on the floor below. Alesha is dancing on a stage with six other girls dressed in pink. There are also couples around the room dancing along as well. Towards the end of the video, everyone starts to sing the last lines of the songs acapella, and various male dancers try to impress Alesha with their not-so-good dancing.
