to make AI-driven animation available to all animation and visual
effects professionals. Using agents from Massive's Ready-to-Run
Library or those created in Massive Prime you can fill a stadium,
get thousands of digital actors to walk over a hill, or create a huge
battle set in medieval times.

INSTALLATION:
------------

1. Unzip & Unrar,

Requirements: some linux administration skills
abilities to install a service, work with env variables ...

We suggest to install everything to /usr/local/massive/
Our install will be based on that setup, if you install to another dir, make sure you edit the mhost.init file

0. You need root access. Create /usr/local/massive/ dir, mkdir /usr/local/massive && cd /usr/local/massive/
1. Install mhost, tar -xzvf /path_to/mhost-3.0.5-fc4*.tgz . if you did it right you should see a /usr/local/massive/bin folder
2. Run /usr/local/massive/bin/mhost -id to get your hostid.
3. Run Massive keygen and type in the hostid.
4. Copy mlicense (your generated lic) to /usr/local/massive/bin

5. Start the mhost, you can either make use of the mhost.init (dont forget to edit the paths if you didnt use /usr/local/massive/)
/usr/local/massive/bin/mhost.init start
or symply start the massive license manager this way : ./mhost /path/to/the_generated_mlicense_file (not recommended to control the start/stop)

6. Install either Massive Prime OR Massive Jet.
tar -xzvf /path_to/massive_prime*.tgz or /path_to/massive_jet*.tgz , of course you run this from /usr/local/massive folder (in case you changed dir)

7. Now Enjoy it . it has been tested on Centos5 32 & 64bits and Fedora Core 4


NB: we have included some tutorials, those arent updated for massive version 3 so just take them as they are
they will help you getting started
