This documentary-drama tells the fascinating tale of one man's towering ambition, and the structure he created. The dramatic five year period preceding the unveiling of the Eiffel Tower is recreated in breathtaking detail.

Through startling HD technology, we journey through the colour and glamour of nineteenth century Paris, feasting upon a visual banquet of music halls, dancing girls, beautiful landscapes and awe-inspiring architecture. Swept up in a whirlwind of silk and satin, we drink in the nocturnal delights of the 'world capital of pleasure' during Paris' belle époque.

The political wrangling, intense rivalry, and profound danger surrounding Eiffel's project are revealed, and the enormity and scope of his vision is bought sharply into focus.
