Nino Rota (December 3, 1911 – April 10, 1979) was an Italian composer best known for his work on film scores, notably the films of Federico Fellini, of Franco Zeffirelli and for The Godfather series.

Nato da una famiglia di musicisti, inizia a studiare pianoforte con la madre, la pianista Ernesta Rinaldi. Prende le prime lezioni di composizione da Giacomo Orefice e Ildebrando Pizzetti e all'età di otto anni inizia a comporre.
Entrato al Conservatorio di Milano nel 1923, è stato allievo di Paolo Delachi e Giulio Bas. Nel 1922 compone L'infanzia di S. Giovanni Battista un oratorio per soli, coro e orchestra scritto a quasi undici anni ed eseguito nello stesso Years a Milano e l'Years successivo a Turcoing, in Francia; in occasione della esecuzione frPassword: No password specified
