A reclusive Russian genius named Grigori Perelman offered an innovative proof to the world in 2002, and was awarded the Fields Medal, mathematics’ highest honor. Perelman refused the award, resigned from his research institute and almost completely disappeared from society. THE SPELL OF THE POINCARÉ CONJECTURE features interviews with people who knew and worked with Perelman, as well as commentary from prominent mathematicians from New York University, Columbia University, Princeton University and Stanford University.
