### Basic Information ###

These apps were made portable using VMware's Thinapp, and consequently, can be run from a USB drive without first installing and with all settings maintained (an 'MSOffice2007Settings' folder is created on first use).

Since Excel is only a link to a file inside Word (in order to save space) Word must be named 'Microsoft Word 2007.exe' if you want to continue using Excel.

'Create File Associations.bat' associate .doc, .docx, .xls & .xlsx files to these apps. Re-apply if the file path changes (including the drive letter). Alternatively, you can create file associations manually by right-clicking on a document file and selecting 'Open With ...', then navigating to the appropriate app.

OS Compatibility: This app was tested on XP & Vista using 3 different computers, but should work on any OS after Win2000. Like the original Office 2007, it will NOT work on Win95, 98 or 2000.

REMOVALS: Clipart, Macros, Help, Research Look-Up, Thesaurus & Non-English Languages

KEPT: Spellink an Grammar check, Equation Editor (new not old) & Charts

-> As well as all the minor stuff, such as WordArt, Organizational Charts, Tables, Shapes and Picture Import.
-> Compatibility mode was also maintained, allowing you to save, convert and edit the .doc & .xls formats (97-2003).

Note: This app isn't intended for advanced users or for work environments, in which case you should probably purchase, install and update a copy of Office, or at least find a larger and more complete portable version. NoPE's release is the ideal free option, it's complete (although not portable), includes SP1 and can be easily activated (and not just a serial). Or you can use the Blue Edition, however, it does not include SP1 & it forces you to perform a complete install, although after which you can re-run setup to remove unwanted components.

- REGISTRATION / SERIAL IS NO LONGER NEEDED, simply run and use, even after switching to a new computer (because it's now based on the Blue Edition of Office 2007).
- 'Create File Associations' was changed from an exe to a bat file (since several minor anti-malware apps falsly identified it as malware).
- The file size was reduced from 118 to 106 MIB.

- More accurate conversion and usage in compatibility mode (97-2003) because the sizeable OARTCONV.DLL was included.
- The ability to easily & instantly create file associations vs creating them manually was added, making it behave more like an installed app.

Known Limitation: You cannot hyperlink from an Excel file to another Excel file (Word -> Word/Excel & Excel -> Word hyperlinking does work, if not, apply the 'Create File Associations.bat' file). This limitation can't be fixed, so if you're one of the rare people linking between your Excel files you'll have to open up each one individually.
