Hi penniless futurama fans! :)
You probably know about the h.264 codec and how great and "scalable" its is.
Well, scalable means from super high-end HD, to shitty low complexity ones.
So, I made this movie file to demonstrate what h.264 can really do, unlike most
torrents out there that use the base profile (=shit)
This movie is encoded with Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/), an open-source
(aka free) tool that does exactly this job, and its does its great.
It's encoded using the absolutely highest possible settings! On a Core 2 Duo
2.8Ghz Extreme Edition, it took 8 full days(!) and that's why you don't see
a lot of this kind of quality rips around...
You can play them in Quicktime or any player with the right codecs (h.264 and
ACC, nothing weird) but you will need a decent computer to handle this
complexity.
Here are the settings I used:
- Video

- Audio & Subtitles

- Chapters

- Advanced
http://www.flickr.com/photos/32237988@N03/3015763961/sizes/o/
In brief:
Video codec - h.264 high profile @ 1650.2kbits/sec
Resolution - 1024x576
Audio codec - ACC stereo, 48kHz
I hope I'd see more high profile rips out there, until then.. Enjoy!!!
