Kyuss-Blues for the red sun

Blues for the Red Sun is a 1992 album by stoner rock band Kyuss.
It is named after episode five of Carl Sagan's Cosmos, entitled "Blues for a Red Planet".
It is one of the earliest pioneering recordings in stoner metal, a bass-heavy, grungey form of heavy metal.
The album is considered a classic of stoner rock, along with Monster Magnet's Spine of God and Sleep's Holy Mountain.
In 2001 the album was featured in Q magazine's list of the 50 Heaviest Albums Of All Time.

Kyuss (pronounced /?ka??s/ KAI-us) was an influential stoner rock band, originally from Palm Desert, California.
After forming in the late 1980s and releasing an EP under the name Sons of Kyuss in 1990, the band shortened its name to Kyuss.
Over the next five years the band released four full-length albums before splitting up in 1995. Since then,
members of Kyuss went on to form or feature in several notable bands including Queens of the Stone Age, Fu Manchu, Unida, Mondo Generator, Hermano and Slo Burn.
