Comments on the Ancestor's Tale

This audiobook is the abridged version of audiobook narrated by Prof. Richard Dawkins and Mrs. Lala Ward. Inumerous pictures were added to .PDF files in order to help the understanding of non-scientist people.

The Ancestor's Tale is a magnificent work of Prof. Dawkins which tells the Humankind's tale backwards, that is to say, from developed human being back to unicellar creatures which inhabited the planet on the first days of the life on the Earth.

I once believed that we should respect the ancient prophets like Jesus Chris, Buddha, Mohammed for being the great lights of knowledge for the origin of man. Now, I respect myself because. As a human being, I am responsible for learning about myself by reading the book of nature. "There is grandeur" in everything that we see on the Planet and it is a great honour to have gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and other primates as my ancestors and cousins: they are much more sensitive than most creatures who consider themselves "humans" as if being human could make any of us special creation. We are not more special than any other creature on the planet. We are common creatures who have evolved through natural selection. If we had been made the image of God, we would surely have the better eyes and vision, just like an eagle; we would possess echolocation system, just like bats; would have members adapted for high speed running, just like cheetahs; body capable of supporting many times our own weight, just like beetles and many other extraordinary and "supernatural" qualities present in insects, plants and animals all around us.
We are not superior. We are just one of them. Many other animals were here before we arrived and many will keep on living after we are gone.

Enjoy it!
